On Sunday, news broke that the Chicago Bears released veteran cornerback Tim Jennings. To some, this move didn’t come as much of a surprise, as Jennings struggled mightily in 2014. There have been questions as to whether or not he would fit in Vic Fangio’s 3-4 defense. But to others, it was a real eye-opener. […]

It happens in a variety of ways: injury, drug abuse, scandals, and it’s happening right now with another area team dysfunction. Robert Griffin III of the Washington Redskins had one of the most electric […]

Second-year linebacker Marcus Smith came into the 2015 preseason knowing that it’s all or nothing for him. Unfortunately, Smith’s path to redemption has been haulted as he was diagnosed with a hamstring injury.
Smith was carted off the field during Thursday’s joint practice with the Baltimore Ravens. Although this will be a blow to his fight for a roster spot, Smith assured reporters that he should be back on the field before the conclusion of training camp. He is expected to have an MRI today to determine the severity of his injury.
As the 2014 first round pick for the Eagles, Smith had an underwhelming rookie campaign and barely saw the field. Now, he is competing for a chance at backing up the likes of Connor Barwin and Brandon Graham.
With Smith out of action, the Eagles will now turn to inside linebackers Brad Jones and Emmanuel Acho to cross-train for the position. With Travis Long heading to IR with yet another ACL tear, Smith may have a glimmer of hope once he returns.
This season, many analysts are high on the Temple Owls, believing that they can take a meteoric jump in the American Athletic Conference. Last week, Stewart Mandel of FOXSports.com, predicted that the Owls will finish the season with a 10-2 overall record and 7-1 in the AAC, while winning the Eastern division. One reason, he […]

The Cardinals have predominantly used four starters, none of which is ace Adam Wainwright due to his potentially season-ending Achilles injury that came only four games into 2015. […]
