The Philadelphia Eagles were quite busy during the second wave of NFL free agency last week, making additions on both sides of the ball.

On offense, the Eagles made a splash in the wide receiver room, signing veteran Marquise ‘Hollywood’ Brown to a one-year deal worth $5 million ($3.7 million signing bonus and $1.3 million base salary). Brown is replacing Jahan Dotson as the Eagles’ WR3 this upcoming season.

The veteran wide receiver spent the last two years with the Kansas City Chiefs. Brown’s addition to the offense gives the Eagles a legit deep threat, which should open up things for DeVonta Smith and A.J. Brown.

Along with Brown’s signing, the Eagles surprisingly acquired veteran quarterback Andy Dalton in a trade from the Carolina Panthers. Philadelphia gave up a 2027 seventh-round pick in exchange for the 38-year-old Dalton. When the trade for Dalton was announced, the immediate thought was that Philadelphia would be moving on from backup quarterback Tanner McKee.

However, it’s unlikely that will happen anytime soon, considering the hefty asking price the Eagles want in return in a potential deal for McKee.

According to Jimmy Kempski of The Philly Voice, ESPN’s Rich Cimini, who covers the New York Jets, was on “The Saturday Huddle,” where he discussed how the Jets went about trading for Geno Smith. Cimini mentioned how New York looked into McKee, but found out that it would take a second-round pick to acquire him.

“They looked into trading for guys like Tanner McKee and Davis Mills and Mac Jones,” Cimini said (h/t Kempski). “Those teams were asking for second-round picks for these guys, so, exorbitant prices. So like I said, not the greatest solution [trading for Geno Smith].”

Staying on the offensive side of the ball, the Eagles inked veteran running back Dameon Pierce and tight end Stone Smartt to one-year deals. As for the defense, Philadelphia signed free-agent pass rusher Arnold Ebikete and cornerback Jonathan Jones to one-year deals.

Additionally, the Eagles shockingly traded safety Sydney Brown to the Atlanta Falcons on Friday. Both teams swapped fourth and sixth-round picks in the 2026 NFL Draft. To make up for the lack of safety depth, Philadelphia re-signed Marcus Epps to a one-year pact and brought in J.T. Gray on a one-year deal.

Lastly, Philadelphia re-signed Braden Mann to a four-year, $14 million contract, keeping him in the City of Brotherly Love until 2030, when he will become an unrestricted free agent. Meanwhile, the Eagles reportedly reworked Jake Elliott’s contract, slightly reducing his base salary from $6 million to $5 million and guaranteeing all of it, per Mike Garafolo of the NFL Network. Garafolo adds that Elliott’s cap number for 2026 was lowered by $240,000.

With all of those housekeeping notes out of the way, we’ll discuss a few more related Eagles items, including draft visits and a few ex-Eagles playing spring football.

Eagles host Omar Cooper Jr. for 30 visit ahead of the 2026 NFL Draft

With free agency starting to wind down, teams will start to turn their attention towards next month’s NFL draft. The Eagles are bringing in draft prospects for 30 visits, giving them a closer look at their medicals and interviewing them at the practice facility.

Last week, Aaron Wilson of KPRC-2 reported that the Eagles hosted former Indiana Hoosiers WR Omar Cooper Jr. for a 30 visit. This news immediately captured the attention of Eagles fans, especially since Cooper is viewed as a first-round pick and Philly could be in the market for another WR, depending on what happens with A.J. Brown.

Cooper is coming off a terrific 2025 season with the Hoosiers, who won the national championship in January. He had 69 receptions for 937 yards and 16 touchdowns, which were all career-highs.

In addition to Cooper, the Eagles reportedly have a 30 visit scheduled with versatile defensive back Jalon Kilgore, per Ryan Fowler. Kilgore played college football at the University of South Carolina, where he racked up 21 pass deflections and eight interceptions across three seasons.
